Just three dreams?!?! Don’t we all have so many more than that? (LAUGH) That said, my dreams are:

1. Financial Stability

2. Increasing my impact on the world

3. Getting healthier

Financial stability is a slippery item. We are basically fine, but there is always a desire to prepare for large investments (like college) and protect ourselves against otherwise unforeseen expenses. To my Career blog readers I sometimes refer to this as “FU” money. Savings that allow you make the best decisions about your job and life when you really need to make them.

Increasing my impact on the world is something else that is in my own hands. I need to write more, speak more, travel more and meet more people. This doesn’t necessarily mean I want to be famous, although that, in itself, helps to spread my words and thoughts more widely. For this dream I need to keep pushing other, less important, things out of my life to make more room. There is a finite space in our lives and I would rather fill it with the things I love than just average, everyday stuff.

Getting healthier is probably the most difficult. We all have mental hang-ups on eating and exercise and I probably have them worse than most. While the answer is so simple in regards to controlling your weight, the day-to-day reality is fraught with much challenge. In the end, like all of these dreams, the power is within my own hands. I just have to figure out how to wield it.
