#Trust30 Day 19: Fear

June 20th, 2011

Fear can be crippling and I know that I have to work very, very hard to avoid letting it make decisions for me. Fear is also a sign that you are either doing something very wrong or very right. We will naturally avoid those things we fear, even when they are in our own best interest. Change of any sort will generate fear, but it is this change we most need to accomplish. to allow fear to rule us means we are less than we might be – less than we are capable of — less than what we should be.

Sometimes the only response is to ignore the fear and do it anyway. There are whole series of books dedicated to just that. You have to do your best to ignore what is making your scared until you succeed enough that the fear simply melts away in the face of reality.

#Trust30 is an online initiative and 30-day writing challenge that encourages you to look within and trust yourself. Use this as an opportunity to reflect on your now, and to create direction for your future. 30 prompts from inspiring thought-leaders will guide you on your writing.
