Ortygia, Siracusa, Sicily, Italy – Watercolor

Boats docked on Ortygia, the island that is the historic center of Siracusa, Sicily. This is a perfect example of why you need to take a photo even if the conditions aren’t perfect. This was taken from a moving car as we headed out of town. And I just tried to grab it as We passed. It came out better than I ever would have expected.

On the road to Agira, Sicily

Each time we visit the town of Rosanne’s grandparents, Agira, we passed through the scene on the road. At times, in Sicily, it can feel as if time has never passed.

Chiesa Santuario Madonna Delle Lacrime on the Web

A view upwards into the soaring, modern tower of this church. It can be seen from nearly everywhere in town.

Dream of your own personal “Villa in the Vineyard” with these tops, totes and cases

This soft scene always recalls joyful memories of our visits to Sicily to see family and friends — even though this vineyard is only a few miles away from my home in Los Angeles. The scene links two major “homes” in my life that share many wonderful traits — like a love for food and wine and keeps the memories alive, even when I am far away.
