Church Sculpture, York, UK

The city of York is filled with historical artifacts and architecture, even beyond the Minster itself. This sculpture on the side of a church caught my eye as we walked into the center of town.

York — Jorvik, in the Viking Language — was an important city long before the Minster was built and boasts a Viking Museum. While the museum was closed for remodeling when we visited, many artifacts were in temporary exhibits throughout the town, including the the remains of the old Norman church, hidden beneath the current Minster
