No one else can care as much about your career as you can. It is simply human nature. We can be empathetic. I’m a rather empathetic person myself. I can kind of catch moods and emotions from other people, so I know that I can care about and somewhat feel what other people are feeling, but the reality — when it comes to making a decision — we can only — and should only — really make the decision that is best for us, because we have to be a place of safety and stability and a good position in order to help others. If we’re not, we can’t help others if we’re not in a good position. We’ll just, in most cases, be drug down with them. It doesn’t help either person in that situation. We can be altruistic. We can be look to the needs of others. We can reach out and be helpful and be useful to others, but there’s a time when we have to think about ourselves.
