If you have this opportunity now — at least for a short period of time — to think about what else you might like to do with your career, I highly recommend — and I’m doing this off the top of my head — obviously you have financial skills. You have a head for finances. You worked in a bank. You may or may not like that. Okay. You also — I have a friend who does — who actually spins her own wool and knits. Right? Is there some way that we can combine knitting and yarn with my financial knowledge? Can I start a company that sells fine alpaca yarns? Can I start and alpaca farm because that is something I enjoy, working with the animals and doing this particular things and its a way to make money? Who knows? But if I think about it — hey, it’s worth thinking about. Because that may spin off additional ideas and additional new thoughts. It’s in the act of looking at all this stuff that these new ideas spin off. And its these new ideas that help us through any transition in our lives — big or small. You need to take that opportunity to look to the fringes, look to the edges, and think about things you’ve maybe never thought about before and see where that might lead you.
