Use transition as something to be cultivated, engaged and used as a tool to improve your life. How many people remember Venn Diagrams from their math class? Right? You know the little circles. You have intersections, unions, no intersection. Right? If you were to draw a Venn Diagram of the interests in your life –and for me, what I can do — I won’t step out of the carea but — you can do gardening, you can do technology, you can do careers, you can do new media, podcasting, painting — you know, whatever. If you drew circles of those and how they overlap with each other– for me, right now, careers and new media are overlapping a lot — it’s at the edges, it’s at the those sections where interest bump up against one another that all the great stuff happens. Don’t compartmentalize your life. There is something to be learned from all of your interests that apply to all the other interests, if you seek them out. If you look at those areas where things bump up against each other, that’s where cool, neat, new stuff in your live is going to expose itself to you and that could be the exact place that a new career will expose itself to you.
