Transcript:
When we are in a job, most of us simply stop thinking about the job. “I have a job. I don’t need to worry about that anymore. I have that level of stability. Whew! I’m done” And I want to tell you that is probably not the best take. I counsel people that you’re always looking for the next great job. Even if you think you have a great job, there are things, outside your control, which can suddenly take that job away from you. So, you should always be looking for the next, great opportunity. That’s a phrase I use a lot — opportunity, because there are so many opportunities that walk into our lives on a daily basis that we simply ignore. I have an entire talk I give on how to accept and recognize opportunity into your life and it’s because people often, when presented with opportunity — that “F” word pops up again, that Fear word, “It’s too much! I can’t do that. It’s a whole different industry and a whole different job and…” and we simply shut it down. You don’t want to do that.
