Our job — as career writers and advisors and coaches and whatever else name you want to give us, is to push you. Just a little bit. But, I do this in my column every single week. I’m always out there gently nudging people along. The reason for that is, being on line, being part of larger group that you could possibly interact with face-to-face, is so important in your career search these days.
The fact is, you don’t know where your next job is coming from. Ok? It could just as easily come from the person you bump into over at Panera Bread as some interview that you go on. These tools allow us to expand our influence in much wider ranges than ever before possible. So, in our ways of pushing you, we just want to nudge you a little in that regard to say, there are some very, very large advantages to doing this and anything we can do to kind of nudge you along we’re going to continue doing.
