More than likely, I discovered A Pattern Language during my time at Walt Disney Imagineering. I can’t really say for sure, but I do have my own copy, and while I am not an architect I often use it for generating ideas about any project I might be a part of. For architects, designers, and in recent decades, coders and digital entrepreneurs, there is one reference book that is invoked probably more than any other: A Pattern Language. This 45-years-old encyclopedic tome is comprised of 253 “patterns,” each of which examines a specific dynamic between people and the environments where they work, play and live.
