Capture the stark, dramatic beauty of Australian nature with this striking black and white photograph of a bare, majestic tree reaching skyward. The image focuses on the intricate, sprawling network of leafless branches silhouetted powerfully against a smooth, dark gray sky.
The use of monochrome emphasizes the structure, texture, and graphic intensity of the tree’s form, transforming a natural subject into a powerful work of abstract beauty. The image evokes a feeling of quiet solitude, winter stillness, and the enduring strength of the natural world. Perfect for modern, minimalist, or rustic decor, this piece offers a sophisticated, timeless contrast wherever it is displayed.

Another birdbath placed in the garden
I ended up buying an extra one of these a few weeks ago and then found a lovely spot for it just outside my back door. I also found a fountain I had retired earlier and added it in and connected it to the 4-outlet smart switch I added a few months ago.
This should give us a nice view of the birds from the dining room and kitchen in the future.

Hello it’s Douglas from A Gardener’s Notebook. Along with all the leaves and the trees and the plants and everything else, it’s always good to have a little unnatural movement in your garden. We picked this wind turner up on sale the other day when we’re at the garden center and it’s a lovely addition to the garden. It joins our wind chimes over there and the spinner we have in the front yard.

I spotted this 1920s gem on Archive.org in a promotional pamphlet, Beautifying the home grounds by the Southern Pine Association. This is the same source I used to come up with a new design for our entrance arbor and will blog about that when I put the finishing touches on it.
An interesting link found among my daily reading

I had to do a little reverse image searching to find out where this picture came from as the Pinterest user only linked to the image itself — a trait I find aggravating at best and mean, at worst, for not giving credit for the image.
That said, this is an amazing room with citrus and other plants found in a Berlin restaurant called House of Small Wonder in Berlin, Germany. I think this would be a great addition to any Home and Garden mood book you might be keeping.
