Do you take cuttings from your neighbor's gardens? from Seesmic

I must say I have been fairly tempted to take some illicit cuttings as I walk through my neighborhood.

My husband and I have taken cuttings from plants in more public places, such as vines growing over fences into the alley. But my mom is much more bold. I recall her taking cuttings from planters in front of buildings, including every variety of mint she ever ran across, and from indoor plants. If I am watching someone's house as a favor, I sometimes take cuttings of their plants. I guess I take after my mom after all! With my plants, I wouldn't mind if someone took a cutting, as long as they didn't damage my plant.

I might be tempted to do that, but remembering the Golden Rule, I could never do it, because I would want someone to ask me before snipping on my beloved plants. Remember, "Do unto others".

I haven't taken cuttings, but more than once I've taken bags of leaves that they've left out for the trash and put them in my compost bin.
