Flowering Trees in LA
These flowering trees can be spotted all over Los Angeles this time of year. Not sure of their name, though. Can anyone help?

It looks like Pyrus kawakami Japanese Evergreen Pear (Ornamental) though I'm not sure because your photo doesn't offer much for scale...
My favorite flowering trees this time of year are the "Chinese Magnolias" with the oversized pink and white flowers.

Ditto, the flowers look just like my flowering pear tree. A wonderful tree I might add which also has great fall color.
