New Garden Hose Problems - Colorite Waterworks

Colorite Waterworks Garden Hose - 50' - 5/8" - $7.99

Purchased at OSH (Orchard Supply Hardware) in Van Nuys, California

It is not often that a product disappoints me so badly, but I have to assume this company is having some manufacturing problems as their product is a complete and utter failure.

Granted, I bought cheap, but even at $7.99 I would expect these hoses to last more than 2 weeks. In both cases, the hoses ruptured along their lengths while NOT in use.

I understand the issues with leaving a host pressurized (which these were not) and leaving them in the sun (which one was, partially), but I have never had this experience with any garden hose before.

Both were returned to the store. I will have to find some other suitable replacements.

I just purchased a 75" 5/8" for $29.97 (+ tax), which is the worst yet I have ever bought. I hated spending this much for a hose, because no matter how much I spend on them, they don't last and always kink badly. I took another chance at this one because the package reads in large letters "CONTINUOIUS FLOW - KINK RESISTANT GARDEN HOSE" "UNCONDITIONAL LIFTIME WARRANTY." This hose won't straighten out, is very very stiff, and kinks like crazy. This has been since the first day I hooked it up.
I will return this to Home Depot where I bought it, and since this is the 5th or 6th Colorite Waterworks hose I've had which has disappointed me or failed in many ways, I most likely won't chose this brand again.

We bought this same hose in 2004 or 2005. It was a problem from the start, very bulky and kindy. It's now developed so many pinhole leaks that it's totally unusable.
