How cool is this Iris? I love getting up close to flowers to see all the crazy details you usually miss. This bearded iris has these intense, deep burgundy petals with super intricate white and violet veining.

I needed to go to the drugstore yesterday to pick up some pills — one of the first times I’ve been on a walk in a long time — and spotted this lovely dark iris in the neighbors yard. It was good to be out looking for photos again.

A lovely bit of Spring as I walked around campus a few weeks ago. The contrast of the bright yellow against the dark@green leaves really made them pop. This great bloom is probably another result of our good winter rains this year.
