As you may have seen, last week we built a small 5×5 plastic greenhouse to house some of our more delicate plants, cuttings and seedings. This Epiphyllum had a bloom starting on it when we placed it in the greenhouse and today I was greeted with this lovely pink bloom. Not sure if the added humidity helped it bloom or not, but it is great to see. These epiphyllum were originally cuttings from a friend’s plant. They hadn’t done too well as something appeared to be chewing on the paddles and making them struggle. Keeping them in the greenhouse could help prevent that, too.
