Many universities and colleges required students to study eugenics. Every biology textbook of the period included a chapter on eugenics. The National Education Association formed a eugenical practices committee. 42 Thirty states passed eugenical compulsory sterilization laws. In short, there was nothing aberrant in the Klan’s racial hierarchy.”
