LA Times provides wildfire information via Google Maps
This is exactly the type of coverage i have been waiting to see. This is a Google MyMap created by the LA Times. I hope they keep it updated as much as possible as it provided excellent information in an easy-to-use.

bummer, Google maps has gone all PC on us. Yesterday the road closed signs were little nazi icons, or at least surly looking crosswalk guards.
now we get non-threatening squares with little 'x' in them.
