Google (Hybrid) Maps

Like Sean over at blogging.la, I, too, have found this new map type from Google very useful. In planning a trip to San Pedro to meet some friends at their boat, I was able to say, "Hey, let's meet on the big lawn next to the parking lot" even though I had never been there before. Very cool!

If you haven't seen Google Earth (and have Windows PC) download it today for a fun time viewing satellite photos from all over the world.

Here is an example screen shot of the marina we visited...

Google Maps: Hybrid View

sean bonner: I've written before about how cool Google Maps is and how they've been adding features to make it even easier to get around - the newest of which is their Hybrid View. As you know you've previously been able to look up addresses on a map, and then switch to a satellite image of that area, well not there's an option which allows you to see the satellite imagery with street names overlaid (including one way street info). This is going to be incredibly useful.
