When we were in Italy, one point of education was the names Italian speakers use for Internet terms. i.e. Dot (.) = punto. I could never remember what they called the @ sign, though. This site came to my aid.
(It is "chiocciola" pronounced "kee-AH-cho-la" , BTW)
