There have been many moral waves of panic over the centuries and it is important to remember that many of the panics we see today are very similar to those of the past. Who would of thought that “children reading too much” or “photographs are less realistic than paintings” might ever have been considered, but witness our current trouble with “screen time” and social media. The truth is, each generation finds a unique way through its life and often must deal with issues that the previous generation cannot possibly have imagined.
