After returning from our 4th trip to visit family in Sicily this year, I have finally become a convert away from traditional American drip coffee and exclusively to mock pot and espresso-type coffee.
Each morning in Sicily, I arise, fill my little Moka pot, place it over a low burner on the gas range (Italian stovetops have a burner especially for this purpose) and wait for the wonderful black gold to bubble up.
Moka pots are easier to use than the steam driven “espresso makers” so often found in America and so much less expensive than true, pressure driven, espresso makers along with the expensive grinders needed to make them produce the best coffee. It has taken a view visits to Sicily to accomplishment, but now I am a complete convert. You might be, too!
