Christmas in the Desert

This combination of plants might seem a bit odd at first, but both are native to the deserts of Southern California and northern Mexico. For me, the combination between the gray of the agave and the red of the poinsettia make it an excellent combination.

The First Paperwhite 2016/2017

Our seasons are a bit different here in Southern California, so our Spring bulbs arrive with the first rains of our season in late Fall and early Winter. These bulbs were some that I planted new this year. The older bulbs are putting up leaves but this one decided to bloom first. I was In the garden yesterday and happened to notice it.
