Flowering Now: California Poppy (Eschscholzia) [Photography]

The image features a cluster of vibrant orange California poppies in full bloom, set against a backdrop of green foliage. The flowers have a distinctive four-petal structure with a bright orange color and a darker orange center, surrounded by delicate, feathery green leaves. The poppies are arranged in a somewhat scattered pattern, with some flowers facing upwards and others slightly tilted, showcasing their natural growth. The background includes a reddish-brown surface, possibly soil or a brick path, and a gray concrete edge, indicating the flowers are likely in a garden or landscaped area. The lighting is bright, highlighting the vivid colors and textures of the flowers and leaves.</p>

My Los Angeles 78: California Poppies (Eschscholzia californica)

Our state flower shining brightly on our friends garden.

This has been a great year for all flowers but especially our native plants like these. The “superbloom” is fading fast, but there are still these pockets of color to be found throughout the city.
