Video: Red-tailed hawk in the garden this morning (Update)

Update: 11/18/07 4:00pm PST) My friend Keri from Animalbytes informs me this is an immature Cooper's Hawk. Thanks for the info!

Wow! This red-tailed hawk decided to visit my bird bath for over 30 minutes this morning. It was a great opportunity to watch one of these large birds up close.

How nice! You must have zoomed in? He was so still...for a hawk!

How lucky you are! We have tons of hawks here in the country, but we don't often get to see them up close.

My friend Keri, knower of all things bird, informs me this is an immature Cooper's Hawk, not a red-tailed hawk.

The immature one's are always hard to identify and I don't believe I have ever seen a Cooper's Hawk up close, so it isn't surprising I mis-identified it.

Thanks Keri for the info!
