Prize Winning Chrysanthemum, Sherman Library and Gardens, Corona del Mar, California [Photography]

Posted on November 14, 2025 by Douglas E. Welch

A close-up photograph showcases a creamy white chrysanthemum in full bloom. The flower is densely packed with slender, curved petals that radiate outward, creating a textured, spherical shape. The center of the flower appears darker, with a hint of yellow, and some of the petals are slightly drooping. Below the main flower, partially out of focus, is another, smaller flower with green and bluish hues. The background is dark and blurred, with a small orange speck visible in the lower right corner.</p>
