When I arrived, the client's computer was not seeing either of its 2 internal hard drives. After trying to boot from CD to check our other settings, I remembered the "rule" that is the title of this article. I popped open the case and made sure that all the cables leading to the hard disks, both power and data, were well-connected. Sure enough, when I turned the computer back on, the machine started normally and the client breathed a sigh of relief, as they were afraid their data was gone for good. So, next time your computer is acting a bit odd, wiggle your wires, and make sure something hasn't come lose. Check your power strips and make sure they haven't been turned off accidentally. If your speakers have stopped working, check to make sure they are plugged into both power and your computer. You might just be pleasantly surprised with the results. ** Do you have questions about your computer and how it operates?
