I have seen a lot of neat iPod information over the last week and thought it would be useful to iPod owners.

FlipStand protects, props up iPod

Palo Alto, Calif.-based Speck Products has announced that its FlipStand (US$29.95) clear hard case for iPod will ship on Sept. 30. Designed for the 4G iPod from Apple and Hewlett-Packard, the FlipStand protects the MP3 player while allowing access to the song control buttons and ports. The scroll wheel is protected by a door that can open all the way below the iPod and turn the case into a stand. It comes with a belt clip. [MacCentral]

iPod Cocoon adds shells for 4G iPods

STM announced on Wednesday the addition of cases compatible with Apple's latest 20GB and 40GB iPods to its line of iPod Cocoons. The Cocoon comes in two parts: a clear plastic skin that fits over your iPod and provides holes for access to the buttons and ports and a hard outer shell that completely encases the player. The shell provides a pocket for your ear buds and remote control, a lanyard for wearing it around your neck and a belt clip. Pricing was not provided. [MacCentral]

PlaylistMag.com launched this week as a resource for digital music enthusisasts using a Mac or Windows operating systems. Edited by Christopher Breen, a Macworld columnist and author of the popular book Secrets of the iPod, PlaylistMag.com will feature free music downloads, playlists from musicians and celebrities, and a community forum where users can share their tips, tricks and even their own playlists with other digital music fans. Newer High-Capacity iPod Battery

Newer Technology and Other World Computing have teamed up to release the Ultra High Capacity replacement battery for first- and second-generation iPods. According to Other World Computing's website, the Lithium-Polymer battery offers an extra 70-percent capacity over the iPods' original battery. [MacCentral]
