Mac OS X 10.3 Mail: Overstuffed mailbox is unexpectedly empty

Apple released this tech note last week. Although few of you should be experiencing this problem, I thought it would be wise to pass along the information so you can prevent it from happening in the future.

If you have a large amount of mail, especially email with large file attachments, you Inbox can suddenly appear to be empty.

Later versions of the Mail program, such as those that come with Mac OS X 10.3.4 and above (Panther) are less susceptible to the problem.
