This is the audio from my talk A Year of Visibility at BarCampLA-5 on March 1, 2008. The audio quality here is slightly better than the video segment, as I was using my lavaliere mics.

Hello, sir!
I’ve listened to your careers podcast for a few months now and it is a continuous stream of small sparks of inspiration to me — or at least reminders of what i either could or should be doing. Like blogging about things i do. Even if they may seem mundane at times, for somebody, what i do can be worth something.
I also want to thank you for putting your barcamp presentation on line with the rest of your audio columns. It was fun to hear you in a different “mode” although you were talking about similar things that you’ve podcasted before (or is that “podcast before”?). If there was anything to improve with it, then it was audio quality: you sometimes faded a bit or bumped your microphone, and it was well-nigh impossible to hear the questions from your audience. It would have brought more value if you had repeated the questions to the microphone.
Keep things coming! My N76 phone is waiting for the next transmission
(podcasts on phones, received over the air — who would have even thought of that a mere year ago!)

Thanks for your kind words. Yes, the live speaking engagement always tend to bring out the gremlins…like forgetting to repeat the questions.
Glad you were able to get something out of the talk, though.
Douglas
