Using the Career Compass to Find Your Work and Career with Douglas E. Welch

Think more about your career from Using the Career Compass to Find Your Work and Career

Douglas E. Welch (http://douglasewelch.com) presents to the class Career Development – Theories and Techniques at Pepperdine Graduate School of Education & Psychology taught by fellow CareerCamp Co-Chair, Danielle Gruen

The two biggest challenges are deciding what you want to do as a career and then building the career you deserve once you decide.

I discuss the Career Compass method of discovering your career wants, needs and desires and then using various social media tools to show people “What you do and how well you do it”

Transcript:

For me, careers are as an important part of your live as any other aspect of your live. You often spend more time at your work. Imagine working for a startup these days. The startup is your life. I pity the poor families who have a startup entrepreneur in their family because you never see them for years at a time. it is so important and I don’t think, in most cases, we take the care of thinking about our careers the way that we would about family, our children, our spouse or anything else. We kind of get, we kind of let it get sloughed off to the side and let it kind of do what it does.
