Transcript:

If you don’t live your own life, build your own career, make your own decisions, there are people who will gladly do it for you. We all know this right? Your spouse will gladly tell you what you should do. Your kids will gladly tell you what you should do. Your boss, will tell you, gladly, what your should do, whether it’s about your life or your career or your job — if you give them half a chance. If you abdicate your responsibility of making these decisions in your own life, other people will make them for you and the fact is, they will not make the best decision for you. They will make the best decision for them. Why do you think bosses get so upset when you decide to quit one job and move to another? Because you are making a decision that is great for you and horrible for them and that’s all they see. And some can get quite angry about it. Which I always turn around and say, “Really, is this what you want to do? Is this really the way you want to be portrayed here?
