Step in and smell the woods with these tops, scarves, sleeves and cases

I was so taken with these fir trees on a visit to Franklin Canyon, here in Los Angeles, and spent many minutes taking first this composition, then another. The smell, in the warm Summer sun, was intoxicating and took me back to the scattered pine groves I knew as a child.
There is something special about that smell. Something unique and calming and natural. Probably what I was trying to capture in this photo.

Idyllwild Pine

Black and white gives an entirely different perspective to this photo. Color can be wonderful, but the stark contrast reveals new textures and exposes the bones of the scene.

Winter Pine Silhouette

A large pine silhouetted against a an overcast sky yesterday here in the neighborhood. I think this photo and the earlier picture of the Island Jay have good potential for cards and some other products, especially if I turn them into vector graphics that can be resized and used as knockout color.
