I took this photo looking straight up into the dense, wild canopy of an old oak woodland. What grabbed me was how the sheer chaos of the branches and leaves turned into this beautiful, almost abstract pattern in black and white.
The sun is blowing out the sky at the top, which highlights the dramatic, gnarled trunks and twisting limbs. The contrast between the dark, textured bark and the bright, patchy light filtering through the leaves gives it a real sense of depth and timelessness. It’s the perfect snapshot of being immersed in the woods, looking up and feeling small, yet totally surrounded by nature’s intensity.
