Narrowboat “Malahat” on the Nottingham Canal, Nottingham, UK [Watercolor]

Narrowboat

Narrowboat “Malahat” on the Nottingham Canal, Nottingham, UK

One of the many canal boats we saw in our Summer trip to Leeds, York and Nottingham. The brightly colored boats and their peaceful surroundings — even in the middle of urban areas — draw you in with dreams of gentle cruising, rural countryside and a life free from hurry and stress. While I am not sure it is bucolic as all that, it certainly makes your imagination run when you see them tied up alongside the canal.
