Places LA: Little Free Library Opens in North Sherman Oaks

Some neighbors on Natick Street in North Sherman Oaks launched their own Free LIttle Library today with a neighborhood event complete with lemonade and cookie stand with proceeds going towards charity. Little Free Library is an international idea that has been out there for a while. Basically it is leave a book/take a book sharing for your local area. It is a great part of any community, promoting literacy, and neighborly interaction.

For more information, pre-build libraries and plans to build your own, you can visit the Little Free Library website.

Here are a few pictures from today. A complete video interview with the family is coming soon.

We missed the grand opening but just walked over to check it out. So lovely! We dropped off some books, picked up a couple, met the owners of the house, and my son even got a leftover cookie from the event. Nice addition to the neighborhood.
