#Trust30 Day 20: Just do it!

Today’s Prompt:

Speak Less by Laura Kimball

What I must do is all that concerns me, not what the people think. This rule, equally arduous in actual and in intellectual life, may serve for the whole distinction between greatness and meanness. It is the harder, because you will always find those who think they know what is your duty better than you know I. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

I once received a fortune cookie that read: “Speak less of your plans, you’ll get more done.” What’s one project that you’ve been sitting on and thinking about but haven’t made progress on? What’s stopping you? What would happen if you actually went for it and did it?

I have been sitting on the idea to do a series of group discussion podcasts based around careers, as well as new media and maybe even gardening. Coordinating multiple people, and the technology involved is always more trouble than doing a show by yourself. This keeps me from moving forward at the moment as I need to carve our at least a small portion of time to get it done.

I think all of these shows would be a great success as I have a great group of people who really care about the topics — even as much as I do. This always leads to great conversation, great questions and, hopefully, great ideas.

I haven’t forgotten about these ideas. They are still there to be accomplished, but I definitely need to move forward on them.
